As our networked societies go through profound changes in their knowledge cultures, their economic structures, their media landscapes and their social fabric, the arts in their mode of artistic research are called to open new horizons. Collaborating at eye level with science, philosophy, and tech development, they contribute to shape and navigate processes of transformation.

As shaping the spaces of our dwelling, working, wandering and sojourn reflects the transformations of society and opens novel social practices, artistic research enters new collaborations with architecture and urban design. This design differs, of course, from site to site according to their backgrounds, and thus offers axes of exchange between regions, countries and cultures in the aim of learning from each other.
